Well, as you know, the economy around the world isn’t doing so hot. Around the world the effects of the recession has drastically lowered the sales of video games. Gamers have to be selective when it comes to buying games because budgets have gotten tighter and tighter.

The online gaming community has got to be the hardest hit because of the constant flow of money needed to maintain a membership. Makes me glad to be playing Guild Wars now. Well worth my money, the F2P game doesn’t affect my budget at all (I rarely buy any games these days besides the major titles of the season).

My prediction for the coming 09 gaming season is that F2P games, especially hits like Guild Wars, will become more and more popular with the gaming community as long as the games have consistent servers and frequent content updates.
